Painterly brush strokes compliment a high-contrast vector space of shadows and intersections;
I created this painting with a primary blue layer that can’t help but function as “sky” at least for a blink, but the grays, greens and charcoal provide a busy foreground construction with graphite and gold highlights that occupies the viewer’s eye with continuous patterns and ambiguous geometry.
