Artful Interaction

1528 1280 Daniel Stuelpnagel

The joy of exhibiting new paintings is to see and talk with people interacting with the art and appreciate having them witness the process as it is encapsulated in a painting.

My work reveals the processes I apply in my studio practice, through layers, brush strokes, texture of subtle impasto, also of course through the compositional choices, color and contrast, there is an immediacy to the encounter in both the making and the viewing, and there is also a sense of time stretching out that seems to figure very prominently in the experience, the more I see people spend time with the work, the more I know that they are sharing my experience of creating it.
