Backstage Banner

Backstage Banner 4032 3024 Daniel Stuelpnagel

This was a remarkable addition to the art for the event; a couple of weeks before, the design committee leader Yvonne Yen suggested maybe I could paint or create a banner to go behind the auditorium stage for the TEDx speakers, to cover up the chalk boards.

I obtained a 9 by 24 foot roll of Tyvek building wrap, lightweight and durable, spent about a day and a half designing and spray-painting that piece in Graffiti Alley, we installed it in advance to test the reflectivity for photo lights and they approved it; my largest painting to date, it provided the backdrop for the entire program of TEDxJHU distinguished speakers.
